HSK63A shares the same taper diameter as HSK63F but uses the A-style flange and clamping geometry found on a specific set of machining centers, so holders built for the two tapers are not interchangeable even though they look similar at a glance. If your spindle is HSK63A and you’ve been quoted an HSK63F holder as an equivalent, check the flange spec before ordering – the clamping mechanism inside an A-style spindle grips a different groove location than an F-style spindle, and a mismatched holder either won’t seat correctly or won’t clamp with full force.
