Spindle Repair Warranty – 10/29/2018 Release
HS Spindles will honor most manufacturer’s warranties. In general, most manufacturer’s have this warranty:
Length of warranty period: One year from shipment date of spindle. Some spindle’s will be warrantied for 6 months based on condition and operating condition of the spindle. HS Spindles, LLC will notify customer of warranty duration at time of initial inspection and provide in quotation.
In the event of required repair during the warranty period, the customer to follow these guidelines:
1. Shipping: Customer is responsible for shipping unit back to HS Spindles, LLC for inspection.
2. Customer to notify HS Spindles immediately upon any issue arising in spindle.
3. Customer to request RMA number (return material authorization).
4. Customer to provide tracking information to HS Spindles.
Upon receiving the spindle, HS Spindles, LLC will perform the following:
1. Inspect the spindle and provide results as soon as possible. Not to exceed 7 business days.
2. The spindle is evaluated for root cause of failure. The following conditions void warranty:
- Spindle crashes – evidenced by high run-out of dimpling on bearing races
- Actuation while running
- Contamination inside spindle from pneumatic airlines
- Over heating of spindle due to cooling system failure
- Damage incurred while shipping or mounting of spindle (drops).
- Improper tooling used – out of balance or bent tooling, exceeding speed parameters of tooling
- Improper mounting of spindle – looseness or worn slides
- Operation while in damaged condition- ex.: running with bad bearings or high vibration
- Damage from improper storage and exposure to the elements, ie: water damage
- Improper voltage or voltage spikes due to failing equipment
3. If spindle is found to be mishandled, a quote will be issued. If spindle is warrantied, repair will begin as soon as possible. Not to exceed 10 business days.
4. Labor is covered by HS Spindles, LLC under warranty service. The following items will not be covered after 60 days, even if the spindle is under warranty:
- All items subject to wear including belts and bearings
- Bearings will be charged at 75% list price as found on website.
5. Shipping under warranty. If spindle is deemed a warranty issue, HS Spindles, LLC will pay for return ground shipping. If customer needs spindle sooner, they must pay the difference between ground and desired service. HS Spindles will insure the spindle for the cost of the repair. If customer wishes the have insurance above that, the difference must be paid by customer.
