Position count should match your actual tooling needs with some headroom – undersizing forces more manual tool swaps mid-job, while oversizing adds unnecessary carousel travel time. The Base and Plus designations reflect differences in gripper and carousel construction, so confirm which build matches your existing machine before ordering a replacement.
